A seamless steel pipe is a circular pipe without any seams that has a hollow part. Carbon, alloy, stainless, or solid tube blanks are used to create seamless steel pipes, which are subsequently produced by hot rolling, cold rolling, or cold drawing.

In order to create a hollow tube or shell, a solid round shape of steel, known as "billets," is heated and cast over a form like a piercing rod. This process is how seamless pipes are made.
