The mixer is a drum-shaped device, as its name would imply, having openings at either one end or, in some situations, both ends. As the drum spins, the components (aggregates, sand, cement, and water) required to form concrete are mixed within. Most common mixers can only mix up to two 80# bags of concrete in a batch, or 24 bags in an hour. Flat-out blending, the result of this blending method is capped at about 14 sq. ft. of material.
