Centrifugal fans accelerate an air stream using a revolving impeller and are distinguished by their radial, forward-curved, or backward-inclined blade designs. As the air moves toward the ends of the blades and becomes pressure, the speed increases. The air is moved by rotating the blades such that it exits through the outlet at a 90° angle. Similar to a forced draught centrifugal blower, a forced draught centrifugal blower draws air and/or other materials into the intake before rotating to force them out the outlet at a 90° angle and blast the clean or material-filled air, gas, or liquid through the system.

Fans are a part of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and are used for air circulation and cooling. The role of fans in HVAC systems is crucial. However, not all cooling or ventilation tasks are carried out by the same kind of fan. The impeller in a casing with a spirally curved contour makes up centrifugal fans. Air is injected into the impeller axially and expelled at the impeller's outer perimeter. The direction of the airflow is centrifugal (or radial direction). Additionally, centrifugal fans have several advantages: excellent energy effectiveness. Centrifugal fans can produce energy with a static efficiency of up to 84 percent when there is constant airflow. These greater levels of efficacy are perfect for supporting larger air systems.
